I’ve been in and out of banking for a few years now and always found the way BOA posted debit card transactions to customer accounts a bit odd. Tons of overdraft fees were charged as a result of Bank of America’s practice of posting debit card transactions from HIGHEST to LOWEST dollar amount. As a victim of this while I was a customer of theirs, I remember arguing with customer service reps a countless number of times regarding this and was very clear that I was savvy to their wrong doing. Well, justice is finally ours. BOA has agreed to establish a Settlement Fund of $410 million, from which identifiable Settlement Class members may receive payments or account credits if you had a consumer checking and/or savings account from 01/01 - 05/11. The Court will hold a hearing on 11/7/11.
